Flight time is billed by the Hobbs hour as metered in each aircraft. Rates for flight time are computed as the sum of a fixed part (currently $30) and a part that is a multiple of local (Easterwood) fuel prices. Each aircraft's multiple reflects its estimated hourly fuel consumption. Rates are set on the 15th of each month, and are determined as in the following table (effective 9/16/06):
Aircraft

10 x CLL
=
$74/hr
Where CLL is the previous month's average 100LL price at Easterwood Airport ($4.44 as of 8/31/06)
This method of pricing accounts for periods of rapid increases in the price of 100LL, such as we've seen recently. On the other hand, when fuel prices come down, as they do periodically from time to time, your cost per flying hour will automatically decrease!
